Schools under Common Core are mandated by the federal government to turn over instrusive meta data collected on students to the federal government. WHY? What are they collecting? Among others they include:
- test scores
- disciplenary records
- health history
- family income range
- religious affiliation
- Do your parents vote? (who did they vote for?)
- Are there guns in your house? (would you like someone from government to come and take those guns out of your house)
In 2011 under the Obama Administration the Dept of Education gutted the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act to allow this sharing with the federal government and third parties. This is Big Brother to the max!
No thorough cost analysis has ever been done. It was just another big government program rushed through (“You have to pass the bill to see what’s in it”). But all estimates admit that it will be costly. The Georgia School Superintendent’s office said required testing could quadruple the cost currently being spent by the state. At any rate there is NO budgeting for this expenditure (another unfunded mandate crippling the states). Schools all over the country are crying for funding as it is and with all the added costs of absorbing illegal immigrant children into the schools this will be a killer!
