Obviously the hi-tech ear phones are a little too much for Raul Castro, but he played dumb with the reporter who asked about political prisoners.
“What political prisoners? Give me a name or names and if there are those political prisoners, before the night arrives they will be released”.
There you have if folks. Obama’s visit to Cuba has had far-reaching and unexpected results! Ok, maybe not so much. Sunday the day before Obama arrive more than 50 dissidents and protesters were arrested by the Cuban government.
And then there’s the report that Obama sat and listened to Castro lament about America’s human rights record and other shortcomings. Naturally Obama loves to run American down, and said “we welcome that constructive dialogue” especially criticism on race relations and economic inequality. They try to outdo each other in running American down and what a fitting picture to sum that up:
Note the political tribute to Ché Guevara behind Obama and the Cuban delegation. Ché you may recall, was not a nice dude even though lefties and thousands of dim-wit college students celebrate him a counter-cultural hero. In truth Guevara helped free Cubans from the repressive Batista regime, only to enslave them in a totalitarian police state worst than the last. He was Fidel Castro’s chief executioner, a mass-murderer. And as you can see by the image on the wall here in Cuba, he is still highly revered by socialistas alike!
You know what happens to Cubans who display open hatred of Ché? They get arrested.
