Just Another Public Employee (of the California State College System this time) Exercising Her First Amendment Rights

From the DB Daily Update, within a couple of hours of the announcement that former First Lady Barbara Bush had died at the age of 92, Fresno State English professor Randa Jarrar issued a tweet celebrating the event. But hey this is just another California public employee expressing their First Amendment rights. Then to add some insult she quipped the following:

“I work as a tenured professor. I make 100K a year doing that. I will never be fired. I will always have people wanting to hear what I have to say.”

But maybe she isn’t as bullet-proof as she thinks. Shortly after a tweet tirade issuing more insults (she’s a big-mouth Jew-hating Palestinian by the way), Fresno State President Joseph Castro doing damage control issued the following statement about its tenured English professor:

A professor with tenure does not have blanket protection to say and do what they wish,” he said. “We are all held accountable for our actions.”

“Jarrar’s words were “obviously contrary to the core values of our University” but that they “were made as a private citizen. Jarrar is on leave of absence and is not teaching any courses on campus during the current semester”.

School officials also said they were reviewing the tenured professor’s position. Jarrar was slated to be the featured reader at an upcoming literary festival. She had been scheduled to headline LitHop on Saturday but informed organizers this week that she was withdrawing. Most likely for her own safety.

Should she be fired? No, not anymore than Starbucks should be boycotted. These people are ignorant lefty progressives and their constant divisive speech and the victimization culture they promote is progressive alright. It is progressively showing the rest of us how class-less they are. Lars Maischak, another Fresno State lecturer was placed on leave just about a year ago for his “Trump must hang” tweet. Wouldn’t you be pleased if your state taxes as a California resident went toward this constant claptrap? No, I think not. By the way if you want to vastly improve all public education in government schools & universities -end tenure. Who the hell else is guaranteed a job for life? Well, besides federal judges & Supreme Court Justices which is proving to be more and more damaging to our society and the constitution too.
