I Agree With Bob. What About You?

September 6, 2013

This the bottom line:

“I couldn’t care less what Congress says, the American people have spoken. We don’t want to go to war in the Middle East PERIOD!”

Thank you Bob for so eloquently stating the obvious. Now let’s get back to defunding Obamacare!

Now Here’s A Journalist!

October 18, 2009

545 vs 300,000,000

Charley Reese has been a journalist for 49 years and this taken from his story, “545  PEOPLE”.

This might be funny if it weren’t so darned true.
Be sure to read all the way to the end:

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don’t propose a federal budget.  The president does.

You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve  Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human  beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve  Board because that problem was created by the  Congress.  In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central  bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a  sound reason.. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-pickingthing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash.  The  politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what  the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault.  They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What  separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the  land, gives sole responsibility to the House of  Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes.  Who is the speaker of the House?  Nancy Pelosi.  She is  he leader of the majority party…  She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want.  If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if  they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can  not replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts — of  incompetence and irresponsibility.  I can’t think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.  When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to  exist..

If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red ..

If the Army &Marines are in IRAQ ,  it’s because they want them in IRAQ

If they do not  receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available  to the people, it’s because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift  the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can  abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to  regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can  take this power.  Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like “the  economy,” “inflation,” or “politics” that prevent them from doing  what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of  them out of office and clean up their mess!

Love Letters From The White House

August 16, 2009
Emails from the White House -like Love Letters in the Sand!

Emails from the White House -better than Love Letters in the Sand!

I guess this is part of Obama fulfilling his government transparency campaign promise. Don’t ask me how I got on their list, but every now and then I get emails from the White House. A recent one was to spread the real truth about Obama-care.

It is signed by David Axelrod, senior adviser to President Obama and directs me to various websites and provides 3 separate ‘lists of eight’ (eight must be an auspicious number -I’ll have to research that one!):

  • 8 ways reform provides security and stability to those with or without coverage
  • 8 common myths about health insurance reform
  • 8 Reasons We Need Health Insurance Reform Now

Here is my response to David Axelrod’s email concerning health care.

Dear Mr. Axelrod,

Thank you for the websites debunking health care myths. I will study them and decide for myself who is lying and distorting what.

One thing however, that would make all lawmakers jobs easier (not to mention transparent!) would be if ALL BILLS PROPOSED WERE WRITTEN IN LAYMAN’S TERMS, i.e., PLAIN ENGLISH, NOT GOVT-SPEAK! I have tried to read and make sense of House Bill 3200, “America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009” (1037 pages if I recall) and it’s difficult at best and honestly downright impossible to follow. This is probably intentional and if not it shows how out of touch Congress is with the American people.

Now simply stated, here are 3 easy things if implemented would really cut down on the ballooning cost of Health Care:

1)  TORT REFORM. You have got to give Doctors a reason not to practice defensive medicine. The American Trial Lawyers Association won’t like this (whoops I’m sorry, that’s most of Congress isn’t it?) but you cannot control costs without it.

2)  NO FREE TREATMENT FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. It’s humane to provide care for illegal immigrants, but they must pay for it.

3)  INSTITUTE A NOMINAL CO-PAY SYSTEM. Anyone receiving any health care will pay a nominal co-pay fee for services rendered. This will drastically cut down on frivolous visits to hospitals, ERs, doctors, clinics, etc., and can go toward covering or subsidizing those who cannot pay for insurance.

Sincerely,

Your friend, Michelle Kerr

And Now I Pronounce You . . . . Queen For A Day!

August 11, 2009

Oh if it were only that trivial. Queen for a Day. Queen2I used to love that show. Imagine all the gifts, prestige and power even if only for a day. But now it’s better than that. If you’re pronounced CZAR by the Emperor it’s comes with a boatload of power and more importantly, insulation.

SO, WHAT’S A CZAR? Today’s Czars at least in this context are appointed by the President, not elected or approved or vetted in any way by Congress. This is where the insulation comes in.  No pesky old Congressional hearings, sworn testimony, having to answer for past deeds or associations -good or bad, and basically no oversite! Who wouldn’t love a job like that?

Democrat Robert Byrd of West Virginia, one of Congress’ oldest ranking Senators, recently wrote to the President saying

“Enough with the Czars Already.”

And frankly I am surprise there hasn’t been more flak from Congress. After all appointing Czars basically amounts to an end run around the legislative branch and certainly takes authority away from Congress. THESE CZARS HAVE RESULTED IN A RAPID AND EASY ACCUMULATION OF POWER BY THE WHITE HOUSE STAFF and threatens our Constitutional system of checks and balances.

The number of Czars has grown over the last few administrations:

  • President Reagan had 1; a Drug Czar
  • George H. W. Bush had 1; also a Drug Czar
  • Clinton had 3; a Health Czar, a Drug Czar, and an Aids Czar
  • George W. Bush had 4; a National Intelligence Czar, a Cybersecurity Czar, an Aids Czar, and a Drug Czar and,
  • President Obama at last count had 34!

Are all these posts and positions necessary? Or are these paybacks to friends for campaign help, contributions, influcence, etc. Makes you wonder. All have nice big, fat paychecks, health-care packages, staffs, offices, cars, etc., etc. What recession? Look for more on specific Czars in a future post, but here’s what Obama’s Czardom currently looks like:

  1. AIDS Czar, Jeffrey Crowley
  2. Afghanistan Czar, Richard Holbrooke Holbrooke
  3. Border Czar, Alan Bersin
  4. California Water Czar, David J. Hayes
  5. Car Czar, Steven Rattner
  6. Climate Czar, Todd Stern
  7. Copyright Czar, TBA (to be announced)
  8. Cyber Czar, TBA
  9. Drug Czar, Gil Kerlikowske, former Seattle police chief
  10. Economic Czar, Paul A. Volcker
  11. Education Czar,  Arne Duncan
  12. Energy and Environment Czar, Carol Browner
  13. Faith-based Czar, Joshua Dubois
  14. Great Lakes Czar, Cameron Davis
  15. Green jobs Czar, Anthony “Van” Jones
  16. Government Performance Czar, Jeffrey Zients
  17. Guantanamo Closure Czar, Danny Fried
  18. Health Czar, Nancy-Ann DeParle
  19. Homeland Security Czar, John Brennan
  20. Information Czar, Vivek Kundra
  21. Intelligence Czar (Director of National Intelligence), Dennis Blair
  22. Iran Czar, TBA
  23. Middle East Peace Czar, George Mitchell
  24. Mideast Policy Czar, Dennis Ross
  25. Mortgage Czar, TBA
  26. Pay Czar, Kennerth R. Feinberg
  27. Regulatory Czar, Cass R. Sunstein
  28. Science Czar, John Holdren
  29. Stimulus Accountability Czar, Earl Devaney
  30. Sudan Czar, J. Scott Gration
  31. TARP Czar, Herb Allison
  32. Technology Czar, Vivek Kundra
  33. Terrorism/WMD Policy Czar, Gary Samore
  34. Urban Affairs /Housing Czar, Adolfo Carrion, Jr.

That’s it for now!

Urgent Action Needed!

July 28, 2009

This is a “Call to Action”.  A vote in the House is likely tomorrow. Referring to Grown Here Not Flown Here you all know about the food recalls, salmonella infected tomatoes and spinach, recalled beef, etc., etc. Without exception those problems originated from the huge mega food producers. That’s why over 70% of all antibiotics consumed in this country are by farm animals where conditions are crowded and unsanitary and hotpots for disease and contamination.

Feedlot cows caked with manure

Feedlot cows caked with manure

Well once again CONGRESS WANTS TO PUNISH THE INNOCENT AND PROTECT THE GUILTY.

It is not small farms and businesses that were the source of contaminated food scares, but rather the processing facilities of large corporations. Yet this bill will only drive small farms out of business, which means reduced competition and higher prices in an already-bad economy.

This Bill:

  • authorizes warrantless searches of farms
  • imposes a $500 tax (or “registration fee”) of all operators in all steps of the food production chain
  • imposes civil penalties up to $20,000 per individual for each violation
  • creates a food trace-back system, burdening farms and small businesses with reams of new paperwork
  • empowers the Dept. of Health and Human Services to micro-manage the raising and harvesting of crops

I think we all love our local farmer’s markets and appreciate the effort they go to in providing good,  fresh, safe and healthy food to our communities. Think what this bill will do to them. Let’s send enough messages to frighten Congress and kill this bill!

Blue Doggies

July 25, 2009

Today I am talking about the Blue Dog Coalition in Congress. They are supposedly the fiscally conservative Democrats in Congress (I think there’s 50 of them-so they can have some sway). Recently they have had some success in slowing the Health Care bill, being ramma-lamma-jamma’ed down our throats (several pages of legislation, not read or understood or vetted or carefully thought out).

Below is the letter I sent to them and urge you to do the same. Cut and Paste it right into an email and to send it to:  BlueDog@mail.house.gov.

Here it is:
******************************************************************
Dear Blue Doggies,

This is just let you know we do not want any of the Health Care proposals currently being put forth. This is too big an issue to do quickly. NO GO FOR NOW.

Nobody disputes that Health Care needs fixing, but the plan the administration is urging you to pass has not been vetted, read or discussed. We the American public are sick and tired of having legislation rammed down our throats. THIS IS TOO EXPENSIVE and we urge you to come to your senses or risk being voted out. WE ARE SERIOUS, PISSED OFF AND WE ARE ORGANIZING.

Respectfully yours,

That’s it for now!
