You won’t believe this, hell he can’t believe it!
A federal appeals court today overturned President Obama’s controversial recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board last year during what he conveniently labeled a Congressional recess. Well Congress had not adjourned and was not in recess, they’d merely left town for a few days (when the cat’s away the rat will play?).
The 3-judge panel ruled it an abuse of power saying-
“Allowing the president to define the scope of his own appointments power would eviscerate the Constitution’s separation of powers.”
In the words of the recently departed Honolulu icon Alexander Brodie, small business owner and founder of Lex Brodie Tires:
“Thank you, very much!”
How many times since his original coronation have we seen the President side-step the Constitution when it proved inconvenient to him (think immigration and the Dream Act, think taking over GM, think unchecked power given the EPA, think of his threats to take grab the debt ceiling limitations from Congress, etc., etc.)?
Could it be some people in other branches of the federal government are growing weary of his vast over-reach? Maybe the latest grab for guns was the tipping point. Who knows? I don’t, but I like it! Of course the Department of Injustice will immediately bump it to the Supremes, but we can hope it was a watershed moment, a tipping point. Maybe somebody, some body of government is finally tired of this bull-crap.
