Human Rights & All That Jazz

August 15, 2013

The soul of America’s founding is located in the universal political principles of the Declaration of Independence according to Hillsdale College’s (free) online course, Constitution 101. Some conservatives don’t cotton to this because of the terms liberty and equality, thinking this is the kind of language that led to 20th & 21st century liberalism.

The libtards of course don’t like the Founder’s principles either thinking the Founders didn’t put the right content into the terms liberty and equality craving endless government programs to insure equality of outcome rather than equality of opportunity.

And check out some of the preposterous enumerated “rights” under the 1948 United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (a favorite of many liberals).

  • Social Security, affordable housing, medicine, education & childcare
  • Enough money to live on & medical help if you are ill or old (fast-food workers $20/hr?)
  • Rest & leisure
  • The right of every person to a standard of living adequate for health & well-being to himself and his family
  • Freedom from fear & want

It is noteworthy that while most Islamic countries have signed the declaration, neither Saudi Arabia nor Iran signed, claiming that it violated Sharia law.

Hillary Clinton has in concert with liberals, added an additional human right:  The protection of the rights of the lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgender community, saying the United States is dedicated to protecting these rights worldwide. And I cannot mention this without pointing out the hypocrisy of this statement when you examine Ms. Clinton’s record of support for radical Islam which regards women, children and most certainly gays as very far below dogs on the totem pole of rights.

The California legislature & Jerry Brown are lock-step with Hilary and just signed into law a bill allowing transgender government school students to choose which bathrooms they use and whether to participate in boy or girl sports.

And don’t believe for a minute liberals are for liberty. They want to control every aspect of our lives. Pro-choice doesn’t include liberty or life for the baby, I just wanna know, when did common sense get so uncommon?
