My New Year’s Wish: They ALL Need to Get a Fracking Clue!

January 1, 2014

Congress needs to get a clue, all federal judges (including the Supremes) need to get a clue and most of all our selfie-Prez needs to get a clue.

There was a purpose for the separation of powers when the founders set up the structure of our government. Checks and balances and prevention of an out of control federal government and the idea of a government by the consent of the People -to name just a few.

From all appearances they all need to get a clue. It’s pretty simple. Come on guys take it on as a New Year’s resolution. If I had one wish it would be that all of our leaders and politicians would read and review the first 3 articles of the Constitution and refresh themselves as to their duties and obligations and limitations contained therein.

The Separation of Powers

Here are some of the basics:

1)  from Article I; “All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.” This means only Congress can make laws.

2)  from Article II; “The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America.” This means the President as the chief executive, administers the laws and has a duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed.

3)  from Article III; The Judicial Power shall extend to all Cases, in Law & Equity, arising under this Constitution, the Laws of the United States, and Treaties made, or which shall be made, under their Authority. . . “. It should be understood that federal jurisdiction extends to cases, not issues (i.e., abortion, gay marriage, prayer in public places, etc.).

So make your New Year’s Resolutions and let’s hope that our leaders can take a breather and review their specific duties & privileges under the Constitution and behave accordingly in 2014.
