Rethink Reform

December 18, 2009

I was thrilled to see two, full-page ads in the Wall Street Journal recently regarding health-care reform paid for by RethinkReform.com. At $196,000+ a page, that’s some serious commitment to counter the ‘stretch’ Pelosi’s and Harry Reid’s of the world.

But that’s what it’s gonna take. One goes like this:

President Obama to Senate Democrats:  “Pass our health care reform and KEEP MAKING HISTORY.”

The next part says:

Americans to Senate Democrats:  “Add to our 36 trillion dollar Medicare debt and YOU WILL BE HISTORY.”

I for one appreciate that investment and so should you. Here’s why.

The centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMMS) recently issued an independent analysis of the legislation and eviscerated nearly every single promise the President has made about his health care plan:

  1. It raises health care costs
  2. Causes millions of Americans to lose their health care coverage
  3. Forces millions of Americans to pay fines and still receive no health care coverage
  4. Causes millions of seniors to lose their Medicare Advantage plans
  5. Places millions of Americans on welfare
  6. Jeopardizes Medicare access for all seniors
  7. Worsens health care access for the poor

The latest CNN poll shows 61% of American now oppose the health, but DO NOT UNDER ESTIMATE THE LENGTHS THE LIBERALS AND SPECIAL INTERESTS WILL GO TO PASS THIS MONSTROSITY!

Here are some of the key people who could prove to be pivotal in any health care vote:

  • Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins on the republican side
  • Ben Nelson, democratic Senator from Nebraska
  • Blanche Lincoln, democrat from Arkansas
  • Arlen Specter, democrat
  • Joe Lieberman, independent senator

I suggest you call or fax all of them and tell them NOT to vote for the health care bill. Here’s an easy way to do it.

  • White House Comments Line M-F, 9-5 EST:  202-456-1111
  • White House Switchboard (ask for Senator by name: 202-456-1414
  • White House Fax: 202-456-2461

Try to leave a specific message if you cannot reach a live person. It takes perseverance, they don’t really want to hear from you, but don’t let that discourage you. And of course, call the Hawaii Senators too.

That’s it for now!

KISS Your Senators and Representatives

September 15, 2009

We’ve all heard a lot lately about health care reform, deficit spending, government promises (my personal favorite is President Obama saying he will not sign any health care bill that raises the deficit one dime), etc. Pinocchio

Coverage of the Tea Party Express Across America and the demonstrations at the Capitol this past weekend gives one hope and encouragement. But here’s SOMETHING SIMPLE YOU CAN DO TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND IT’S EASY! Like the old adage, KISS (keep it simple, stupid).

Call, fax or email your Senators and Representatives today and simply ask them if they are IN or OUT. Click here for contact info on all your reps.

  • Sen. Inouye  Phone: (202) 224-3934, Fax: (202) 224-6747
  • Sen. Akaka  Phone: (202) 224-6361, Fax: (202) 224-2161
  • Rep. Hirono  Phone: (202) 225-4906, Fax: (202) 225-4987
  • White House Switchboard: (202) 224-3121 to get connected to any other members of Congress

It’s simple. Tell them if they don’t adhere to these 5 items, they’ll be out in 2010.

TO CONGRESS, THE FIVE PLEDGES

1.  I believe in a balanced budget and therefore will vote for a freeze in government spending until that goal is realized.

2.  I believe government should not increase the financial burden on its citizenry during difficult economic times; therefore I will oppose all tax increases until our economy has rebounded.

3.  I believe more than four decades of US dependence on foreign oil is a travesty, therefore I will support an energy plan that calls for immediately increasing usage of all domestic resources including nuclear energy, natural gas and coal as necessary.

4.  I believe in the sovereignty and security of our country and therefore will support measures to close our borders except for designated immigration points so we will know who is entering and why. I will vehemently oppose any measure giving another country, the United Nations, or any other entity power over US citizens.

5.  I believe America is the greatest country on earth and therefore will not apologize for policies or actions which have served to free more and feed more people around the world than any other nation on the planet.

Hasty Retreat -The Feds Got Caught

August 4, 2009

I’ll bet you didn’t see this tasty tidbit anywhere in the mainstream media, but there’s more than a few reasons NOT to extend the CASH FOR CLUNKERS program. Never mind that it’s just another bailout. You know we’re all sick of those -until it’s something we want.

“Yeah, I was going to buy a car anyway. Mine gets crappy mileage so why not take a ‘free’ handout from the government?”

But what people don’t realize is the open sesame to blatant intrusion right into our own computers when accessing the CARS.gov website. This was not covered by mainstream media or  their blogs, but a ‘Constitutional Watchdog’ saw it when logging on to Cars.gov and reported it to Fox News. They went right to the White house to inquire about it and were told they were “re-working the language”, and then low and behold the CARS.gov access disclaimer disappeared completely from the Cars.gov website, begging the question, are they still accessing the info but not telling you? And what about the computers they already invaded before they got caught?

By the way, this program was so well thought out it was supposed to last through November and it ran out in less than a week! How’s that for government planning and accurate projections? Think Medicaid and Medicare, Health Care Reform and Cap & Trade and other government programs if you decide to accept government cost estimates as the real deal.

And what real good does it do American car companies? Did you know only 47% of the Cash For Clunkers trade-ins went for cars sold by Detroit’s Big-3? The rest went to foreign car makers.

But the most frightening thing about Cash For Clunkers is it gave the government a chance to wedge their way into your computers if you were a car dealer using the program or if you were a customer who’s data was entered into those computers. The Feds now have legal access to that information. Watch this video and see what I mean. THIS IS FRIGHTENING! It’s beyond frightening and America, you better wake up!

Blue Doggies

July 25, 2009

Today I am talking about the Blue Dog Coalition in Congress. They are supposedly the fiscally conservative Democrats in Congress (I think there’s 50 of them-so they can have some sway). Recently they have had some success in slowing the Health Care bill, being ramma-lamma-jamma’ed down our throats (several pages of legislation, not read or understood or vetted or carefully thought out).

Below is the letter I sent to them and urge you to do the same. Cut and Paste it right into an email and to send it to:  BlueDog@mail.house.gov.

Here it is:
******************************************************************
Dear Blue Doggies,

This is just let you know we do not want any of the Health Care proposals currently being put forth. This is too big an issue to do quickly. NO GO FOR NOW.

Nobody disputes that Health Care needs fixing, but the plan the administration is urging you to pass has not been vetted, read or discussed. We the American public are sick and tired of having legislation rammed down our throats. THIS IS TOO EXPENSIVE and we urge you to come to your senses or risk being voted out. WE ARE SERIOUS, PISSED OFF AND WE ARE ORGANIZING.

Respectfully yours,

That’s it for now!
