Legalizing Marijuana Does Not Make Us More Free -It’s Just Another Way To Tax & Control Us

November 25, 2016

Come on now, really. Do you know anyone who wants to smoke marijuana who can’t get as much of it as they want without any trouble at all? The answer is NO. So why the big push to legalized marijuana? M-O-N-E-Y. Don’t forget all states are broke. Yes some more than others, but they’re all addicted to spending and can’t seem to cut anywhere.

This past election doubled the number of states allowing legal recreational marijuana bringing to the total to eight; Massachusetts, California, Nevada, and Maine join Colorado, Oregon, Washington and Alaska.

But don’t be fooled that this is a good thing or that it’s about freedom. It’s not. It’s all about control. Get a clue! The California vote to legalize marijuana is called an ‘act’ permitting recreational marijuana and it’s stated purpose:  to Control, Regulate & Tax adult use of marijuana. This is the government controlling, regulating and taxing our behavior. This is not an action toward freedom at all.

In Hawaii we’ve had medical marijuana for several years and if you obtained what is called a “medical marijuana card” you could grow up to seven plants for your own use. Now they’ve decided they’ll allow growers and dispensaries, so pretty soon (as soon as the aforementioned come online) people who used to grow their own pot for medicinal uses no longer can. In fact they’re so far down the regulation pipeline (and up our arses) they’ve hired BioTech Medical Software Inc. to provide the department 24/7 access to real-time data of medical marijuana inventory, sales, and other information creating a “seed-to-sale” tracking system to the tune of $879,000 for a 5-year contract! And Hawaii’s BROKE! Naturally they wouldn’t go to the trouble to do this if they didn’t expect a big pay-off, and it will end up costing legitimate medical marijuana patients with real issues a lot of money where it used to cost them next to nothing.

Knock-knock. I’m from the government and I’m here to help you. Yeah right!
